# What is SNG Poker?

Sit-and-go (SNG) poker tournaments are a type of online or live poker tournament where players pay a fixed buy-in to participate, and the tournament begins as soon as a predetermined number of players have registered. Unlike scheduled tournaments, there is no set start time for a sit-and-go. They typically have a smaller number of players, usually between 6 and 10 players, and the tournament structure is usually a single table. The top finishers of the tournament typically receive a payout, with the winner receiving the largest share.
